Sandcastles in the Sand Part II

M&Em Causing Chaos

The Cork Bar - M&Em, Jason, Kourtney

The group at Mackey's Happy Hour

Our most recent trip took us across the Death Bridge, I mean the Bay Bridge to Ocean City, MD. Ready for some serious Fourth of July action, Meg and Kelly arrived at Kourtney's house early Thursday evening. After some delicious grub and catching up, the crew was ready for a night out. First stop, a local dive bar with cheap drinks. It didn't take long until Meg decided it would be fun to karaoke for the first time ever. The crew made their way to the Sandbar. Yes, it's as dark and seedy as it sounds. Her musical selection was already chosen and dance moves were already practiced. As her time to go up on stage approached and in a moment of clarity, Meg realized what she had signed up for and started losing her nerve and tried convincing the group to leave. No one would budge so instead of leaving, Meg took a shot to relax the nerves - then it was her time.

The crowd waited in anticipation as the opening notes to "Take Me Home Tonight" played. Meg quickly realized the audience was waiting for a show - and a show she gave them. Every beat brought a new move. Every word brought another person to the dance floor. By the time the song was over, Meg had the crowd up and for the first time, making people realize just how awesome Eddie Money is. After the show, we all hit up Fat Daddy's for some late night grub and to rehash the night's events. It was a good night and great start to the weekend.

Early Friday, Em arrived and we all headed to the beach for some sun and sand. As the late afternoon approached, we hit up happy hour at Mackey's. The crew enjoyed some cheap eats and drinks. Finally - we headed back to the house (but not before a stop at Candy Kitchen) and relaxed for a bit before heading out for the night. Fast forward to 11pm and we were off to Fager's Island. After a few hours of dancing and drinking, we were back at Fat Daddy's to fill our bellies with late night grease.

Saturday morning we headed back to the beach for some frozen drinks and warm sun. Later in the day we were back at the house preparing for the 4th of July festivities. We hit up the Pool Bar on the Boardwalk and enjoyed the fireworks. Later we headed to the Cork Bar. While everyone socialized and enjoyed themselves, M&Em found a wall full of fireman gear and thought it would be hilarious to try the helmets on (see above photo). We were probably the only ones who found it so funny. Unfortunately the night came to an end and we were all headed back to the house.

This 4th was a weekend to remember with good times and good people. Thank you Kourtney and Jason for letting us stay at your place!!!
