Thankstmas

Santa's newest elf!

Thankstmas took M&Em south of the border this November to a slightly warmer climate. After the usual overnight, 8-hour dirve to Bluffton where M&Em were aided by two cokes, 2 starbucks coffees, animal crackers, cowtales and a partridge and a pear tree, M&Em arrived fresh and ready to go the morning of Thankstmas.

After a short nap, the family gathered to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. By the afternoon, everyone was enjoying the feast- completed with a Cowboys win and a Giants loss! Between eating breaks, the family played a new game, Apples to Apples while Greg sat in the middle of the game (the middle of the table).

Em the last to go to bed before the women in the house prepared for midnight shopping at the outlet- kickstarting Black Friday! Meg came home at 2AM, shopping bags in hand for a quick 2 hour nap before M&Em headed out to face the Target, Best Buy and Walmart lines.

Several hours of shopping later, M&Em headed back home for another nap before embarking on a journey to the Savannah Mall. Black Friday was again exciting, successful and exhausting for M&Em but not too exhausting that they couldn’t celebrate Christmas later that night with the family!

The rest of the weekend was spent resting and relaxing before heading back to VA! The normal 8-hour drive unfortunately took close to 13- thanks to all the normal holiday traffic. Looks like next year M&Em will leave at 4AM instead of 6!

What's a Hilltopper?!?

Nuff said.

Is it just me or is it sunny out?

Those left standing.

Our next travels brought us to Annapolis for our first Navy tailgate. It was cold and rainy but Navy alum sure know how to put on a stellar tailgate (although, it's no PSU tailgate :). We were ready for the Midshipmen to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers but Meg and the girls had other plans.
The drinking began around 11am - by the end of the night Navy had run all over the Hilltoppers but only Em knew that - out of the group of 20, he was the only one to make it into the game - rain and all. The others decided to stay warm, huddled around the keg.

The night was a blast with lots of memories. Of course being in the DC region, political fights arose, Meg raved with make-believe glow sticks and Em enjoyed the game. Overall it was another fun travel for M&Em.
